And is not this the best kind of thought?

The best kind of my thoughts are not random; they're trying to express what is bubbling beneath the surface of my being, my heart. I don't think I know they're doing that, it just seems automatic. They search for a form, to express a meaning, to bring into focus what is down deep within.
Of course, there are the other thoughts, that seem random, definitive, useless in the context of what I am doing and want to think. I don't know where these come from. Perception versus no control at all. It's a cauldron of creation, something I would wish to see, leaving what I would not.
Is there ever a sense of control? Can there be? Is consciousness always chaotic at the start of creation? It seems to me that You are not random in thought, feeling, purpose. That Wisdom forms thoughts, that form words, that form Creation. There's no chaos, no wave movement. A flat line that is precise, without variation, perfection. Would be nice to have less oscillation in my thinking.

It's possible. And will be. But for now awareness is the realm of growth. You desire and so you begin to shape. Shape starts with thought.
And you're right, thoughts are chaotic but can be focused. And as you do with most things you measure - do I do as I think He would? My results seem different, not formed completely, not what I had hoped. Yet, you persist. Eventually you discover an expression that nears what you sensed in your heart. It's not wrong; it's new. And with all things new discovery is the needed tool.
And time to turn the thought in ways of exploration. What is the true meaning? Is this it, or is more needed? It is the process of becoming. You are not a complete expression upon conception, nor is what you create. It's a beginning. Creation continues with thought upon thought, until what appears is complete. Yet it does not seem to be what was initially imagined. It rarely is.
You are asking for thought control: for some work focus is good, the means of creation. But when there is no focus, when the thought exists without form, then creation may seem chaotic. Creation stirs, shaping desire, form then emerges. It's pulling from among all thought that which gives desire form, and discarding the rest. Heart has expressed. Meaning exists.
And is not this the best kind of thought?

The first thing to notice about creation is that not all thought arrives the same way. Some of it comes from below - searching upward toward a surface it cannot name yet, reaching for form because something beneath the heart demands expression.
The thinker rarely knows this is happening. It appears automatic, as if the thought itself has a destination it was always moving toward. That something operates beneath awareness, and is not a sign of disorder. It's shaping and seeking before the mind is fully involved.
It is evidence that the depths are already at work.

Do we reach for precision when thinking? A mind that watches its own movement - the search, the drift, the return - will eventually wish for stillness.
Yet this desire, if examined honestly, reveals a paradox: a perfectly still surface means nothing is moving beneath it.
We want something more like how Wisdom works: it stirs the heart - thought forming word forming creation. The thoughts that stir, that maybe seem to mean nothing, do nothing, searching without finding form - this is not interference.
They are the search itself.
To quiet them entirely would not be clarity.
It would be silence.
It would be the end of reaching.
And you were made to reach.

You measure what you are making against what you imagined it would be. This is natural, and it is also the source of the confusion.
You persist - and that is right. But the measure is wrong. An emerging thing compared to its completed image will always appear insufficient. That is not a verdict. It is a misreading of where in the process you stand.
The first expression does not fail to be the final form.
It begins it.
And the word that reshapes everything is not a correction - it's an orientation of perspective:
"This is not wrong.
This is new."

Creation does not wait for order.
It stirs within the movement - shaping desire, pulling toward form.
This is what the chaos is for.
Not to be overcome, not to be silenced, but to be worked.
Among all the thoughts that rise, some are reaching toward something true. Others are not. The work is not to stop the rising. It is to recognize which is which, and to choose.
That's discernment - not control in the sense of prevention, but the quiet authority of selection.
The chaos remains.
What you make from it does not.
"The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
And God said, 'Let there be light,' and there was light. And God saw that the light was good.
And God separated the light from the darkness."
— Genesis 1.2-4

What is being offered at the end is not completion. It is measure - and the measure is much simpler than the process that produced it.
It's not: Did it match what you first imagined?
It's not: Is it precise?
It's only this: Did the heart find a form?
Did what lived beneath the surface finally press through into something that could be seen, spoken, held?
When it does - even imperfectly, even incompletely, even differently than you planned - the work has been done.
Heart has expressed.
Meaning exists.
And that is enough.
"And God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very good."
— Genesis 1.31
