The desire for inspiration opens the door to greater possibilities

Your words are as water to my soul, yet not now as a calming stream but as a raging waterfall. They pound my being, yet I am not consumed. I am overwhelmed yet desire to go deeper. Their sound is all I hear – as if they are all that is heard in the universe – yet they are all I would want to hear. I allow them to create within me that I may become all they are; they create and I Am.

I realize I cannot make decisions based on personal desires alone but need the inspiration of the Spirit to move creatively in any areas of my life – whether investing, work, or interest, including my walk with You. My desires need to be more in line with the inspiration of You within my life.

At work, for instance, I can’t just jump in with what I alone think works with people – they might respond divisively. My rising anger at subterfuge is a case in point: the facts could show a weakening of the financial base, and I sense a responsibility to protect it as I believe no one else will. Yet I now think that should not be my plan of action – to defend. I should let the actions lie as they will – I need to have my heart and mind sensing Your inspiration, and act on that, and do nothing if I do not have it.

After all, I do this in my investments: I am inspired in a direction, test it, and perhaps change my style based on possible success. Why not the same at work? Why not the same in all aspects of my life, including the political events I am currently focused upon? There should be not directional progress, no ground taken, without listening for You. I need to be within the waterfall of Your voice.

You do have this tendency to defend – whether your position as an investor, your responsibilities at work, even your political and spiritual views. It speaks of a man that is afraid to let go of what wisdom he alone possesses and so overlooks his belief of My involvement in all his endeavors. It also speaks of a faith in Me not fully developed in trust. Is it that you see yourself less valuable to others and therefore need to assert your personal wisdom? This action provides limited success. But you are becoming aware of this, in a much greater sense than ever before, simply because you are choosing to draw nearer to Me, searching for My voice, seeking My inspiration.

And this new intention – the desire for inspiration – opens the door to greater possibilities of working with Wisdom. In all the desires of your life – in those you work with and those you think about – you are now beginning to have a greater impact because you are seeking understanding through Me, and not just within your own wisdom. And this is Wisdom.

The walk with Me is fraught with peril even though you are safe with Me – I will not let harm come to you. Because you are in My midst, that is where the enemy looks for any defect in thought or action that he might exploit, to reduce or sidetrack any peril that would come his way. But, as you have experienced, your best place of safety is within My words, within our place together, within our walk.

Do not be upset with yourself at your actions; choose instead to move your vision from your circumstances to where I Am. It is from there alone that your power will rise, your strategies unfold, your success will come. It is not in being involved on the field of battle; it is being upon the mountain with Me. Set your heart there, focus your vision to My presence, and let My words flow over you and set your direction.
