I see when the heart is troubled sometimes moving forward is difficult. But it is those times that You offer comfort, with words of wisdom, of hope, of persistence in moving forward into the things my heart would find peace and understanding. It is this time of turmoil, and of an unknown future, that Your words provide the strength and encouragement I need to continue. And it’s there I know I find the healing my heart needs and desires.

Be gentle with your heart. Our time together is not of an instant ‘I did not see but now I do’, with behavior changes to follow. You have learned patterns of behavior, patterns of thought, and a measurement of experience where you fit together all into a life you can understand and see, as if a puzzle to be completed.

But life is not meant to be that way – the assembling of experiences into an ending you can be proud having put together. Life with Me is adventurous, unpredictable, with everything imaginable possible, and beyond even that – there is no completeness to your satisfaction, for there is ever more to discover. The journey into Me is never done.

It is therefore for you to discover how your heart is to follow Me – will it be one of trust into where I would take you, or must you have some control of how that is to happen? You see where your control has brought you as far as it can yet far short of your potential.

Trust that your heart is My great concern, and that I would have it whole, joyous, and fulfilled.

And along the way, when it is troubled, do not look for its immediate cure, but allow Me to move within it to show you the depth of its love, its purpose, its desire. You need not discern its needs, as if you could, but allow Me to reveal them to you. The tenderness of your heart is not just a work I do but one you must do too. And so be patient; move through the events of the heart with My guidance and you will become much more aware of My place within it, and why I choose to live there.

Let not your heart be troubled. Believe in God and believe in me.

John 14.1

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. It is not as the world gives that I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, and do not let it be afraid.

John 14.27

“The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”

— John 3.8

The journey into Me is never done.
It is therefore for you to discover how your heart is to follow Me – will it be one of trust into where I would take you, or must you have some control of how that is to happen? You see where your control has brought you – as far as it can – yet far short of your potential.

The message seems to encourage letting go of the need to dictate the "how" of your journey. Trusting the process—surrendering to where you're being led—could unlock greater potential than clinging to familiar control.

Reflect on moments where control has limited you and where trust has opened new doors.

“I know, O Lord, that the way of man is not in himself, that it is not in man who walks to direct his steps.”

— Jeremiah 10.23

Trust that your heart is My great concern, and that I would have it whole, joyous, and fulfilled.
And along the way, when it is troubled, do not look for its immediate cure, but allow Me to move within it to show you the depth of its love, its purpose, its desire. You need not discern its needs, as if you could, but allow Me to reveal them to you. The tenderness of your heart is not just a work I do but one you must do too. And so be patient; move through the events of the heart with My guidance and you will become much more aware of My place within it, and why I choose to live there.

This passage carries a deeply comforting and spiritual message, emphasizing trust, patience, and divine guidance in matters of the heart. Here’s a reflection on its key themes:

God’s Care for Your Heart – The assurance that your heart is God’s "great concern" suggests that He deeply values your emotional and spiritual well-being. He desires it to be whole, joyful, and fulfilled—not broken or burdened.

Not Seeking Quick Fixes – When your heart is troubled, the invitation is not to rush toward an immediate solution but to allow God to work within it. This implies that struggles have purpose—they can reveal deeper truths about love, purpose, and desire.

Surrendering Understanding – The passage reminds us that we don’t have to (and often can’t) fully discern our heart’s needs on our own. Instead, we are encouraged to let God reveal them in His time and way.

Cooperation with Grace – The tenderness of the heart is described as both God’s work and ours. This suggests a partnership—we must be patient and attentive, allowing His guidance while actively participating in the process.

God’s Dwelling in the Heart – The closing lines highlight that God chooses to reside within the heart. By moving through life’s emotional seasons with Him, we grow in awareness of His presence and the sacredness of our inner life.

“Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.”

— Proverbs 4.23
