Day 152

I remember the story of the one buying a field that contained a discovered treasure; extreme value was discovered, and great sacrifice made to obtain it from the owner. It seemed to be an accidental discovery, but perhaps not – it’s not clear to me. However, apparently the owner of the field saw an opportunity for profit and so made the deal.

I wonder, however, how the new owner views the treasure now his: does he know the true value and the means to extract this value for his benefit? Would the treasure itself guide in discovering the full value, or is the perception of value based on what everyone else believes is value? I want my discovery to be valuable to me because I believe it has great value to me, and perhaps to me alone.

And that is the true sense of value that one believes and would sacrifice for that belief. You have found great value in Me where others see none. Your belief encapsulates believing for things beyond understanding, the opening of new vistas of wisdom and knowledge, the changing of political systems, investment goals that benefit many others, and you believe you have found a source for all those desires to happen.

That is so, but so much more has been found within this treasure that perhaps you did not expect to find, and as such, the treasure has become much more valuable than initially thought. There are treasures within the treasure: those that change the heart, that change perception, that change even the very beliefs one used to discover the treasure in the first place. And that is the secret to any treasure one may possess – what is there within that is undiscovered that can benefit many beyond just the one who possesses it?

As you have sought for Me, and given much to find Me, so now I can give all to you in return. And in what I have given are many more treasures for you to own if you would but fire the same sacrificial effort – they are freely given but require a new way to see. And that is what you are learning now, for I would not withhold anything from you. This is a discovery journey together.

I know your heart is full of the vision of freedom being lost for so many due to the command of a few men over the many, and it is your desire to see that changed. You see the separation of the wealthy from the poor; the well from the sick; the learned from the naïve; the powerful from the weak. And in a great way these have led you within your road to discovery.

As you have looked within your treasure you have discovered the greater treasure – that it is not of things to bring change to other things, or of plans and ideas, or even of changing those things that move your heart, though all of this is true – it is the heart itself that has changed: its longing to be held within a greater place of protection, of belonging, of peace and rest and comfort within the security it values. And it has found that. All these other things, as good as they are, and needed, pale in comparison to the one purpose of the heart: to be encircled with the love of the One that created it, to reach its fullness within the One that understands and cares for it. It will have found its true treasure in being home.
