Trust comes not from the testing but from the believing

I want the true voice. I feel like Gideon – that seeing You did not seem to be enough, that he had to test You a couple of times to confirm what he was hearing to be true. I don’t want to test – I want to believe I can discern Your heart by the words You speak and know it is the heart of God: it’s compassion, love, kindness, and yet not without firmness and direction. I would think that if these were the words of my own voice they would lead me to You anyway – and that would be a good thing. But I would prefer to believe You still speak to me today, that these words build on and confirm the biblical word, that what I am hearing is Your true voice.

And therein lies the test. Are My words of a true heart, or do you sense them patronizing or words you would wish to hear because of what you are moving through? Do they confirm only what you want to hear? Or do they provide a new perspective and new understanding, a greater wisdom? Can they possibly be from an enemy who knows nothing of love, compassion, and freedom? Are his words only of possession, selfishness, his own way?

I have given you a discerning heart for My heart, and that is all the test you need to move forward into what I have called you to do. Trust comes not from the testing, but the believing the belief that I will do what I have said. I have said you will have a true voice, and it shall be. That true voice will be expressed for it will have seen My heart, and what is said will come to pass.

Until now I have committed My heart as One, and together we have now committed our hearts that we are One. I will always be faithful to you even as we move forward into deeper conversation. Always listen, and judge My words by our hearts together, and not separate, and you will find your confirmation.
