Resist the temptation of thought that life is over

Once again it seems my eyes are consumed with the affairs of men, and likely will capture my attention even more as circumstances push to war. The pull of the outside, what I see, yanks a thread within that I should be doing something more, perhaps working more on my expressions of You, or more prayer, more study, something that might open the eyes of others to You.
Yet I know, but seem to easily forget, that it is the inside I should devote my attention — to sense Your presence, to hear Your voice, to seek Wisdom. I think I do these more than before yet I am so easily led astray by what I see happening outside of me; the pull to change that is significant.
I remember the story of the storm, how You slept through it, much to the dismay of the disciples. I can sense their apprehension to call on You to do something: this is a serious situation with lives at stake, knowing You can do something but seemingly unconcerned, even unaware, then to be chided for their fear and lack of faith when You do rise. It's at those times when I fail to see You doing anything to save mankind that I feel I must do something, yet within knowing I am not seeing clearly.

And then you begin to see the stick of a plant next to you. In preparation for its next move you cut all the leaves, hoping you have not stripped it of life, yet somehow knowing it is not dead but growing still from within. It is you in many ways, and the work of My Spirit within.
The plant is aged and you wonder if life can remain within after such a severe pruning. Can it still grow as in its youth, can it become again what it was, maybe different? It's the same for you: you have been pruned of all of the past in preparation for the future. There is life within, there are roots still expanding, and soon life will be seen externally, perhaps differently than what appeared before. We shall see.
You pray for the plant that life will once again appear — now pray for yourself knowing that life will appear. It will be new, something different, something to watch, then something to be seen that will have the affect on others you would like to display. Resist the temptation of thought that life is over. Instead, remember that in Me life never ends. Have no fear. Have faith that I am aware, even if unseen, and that I might be doing a new thing in you. It may appear as if nothing is happening, but we both know that not to be true.
