I see how distracted I have been and my wandering as a result. My mind is preoccupied, my actions reveal desire unfulfilled, and all things I do are to lead to temporary satisfaction. Even when I recognize my desire to be obsessive, and should release myself from its control, I find myself fighting a battle; even in overcoming it does not remain far from me – always there, always enticing, unless another distraction takes its place.

If I have difficulty with the things I prefer not to be in my life, have no benefit, and lead away from what I would have, how much more the things of blessing – will they too become a distraction? Am I able to let them go to stay focused with what I truly want from deep within?

I desire your heart to always desire to be with Me, and I will fight for it to do so.

You are right to see that the choice is easier with the things you recognize are not the best for you, and you will surely need to deal with the things that may appear to be of great benefit, great resources, great goodness.
