Day 142

I see many things I would like to change but feel almost powerless to do so. And the dilemma in that, for me, is that I know there is a power available to make those changes, yet I do not know how to access it, if that is even possible for me.

And therein is my difficulty: the trial of belief it is not a lack of belief in Your presence, or Your purpose, or Your power, but in the understanding how You move within what I look at, and not in what I should be seeing.

I would see You within what I am looking at, that I may see not what I would want to see, but what You see. I would be reminded in all situations I would see changed to first see You, for my belief is in You and in Your power for change into wholeness, restoration, and freedom. I know I must see that before any change is to occur. Is that the way for change?

Change lies within purpose, and for change to occur purpose must first be revealed. Miracles always point to Me for that is their purpose. For change to occur in those things you would look at you would need to see how that change would reveal Me. Revealing Me reveals the change.

It is the Lazarus story: while the possibility of change persists according to your expectations, belief ceases when you see the possibility of your expectations disappear – healing disappears when death occurs. And when you sense Me within those circumstances you feel I am too late to change them. Should expectations cease based on what one is looking at, or do they always remain in some form?

It is Mary (and Martha as well) who says that she believes only within the framework of her belief, that change can only occur as she might see it happen, and when it does not happen that way, belief is no more. Yet I am still there – that has not changed, only Mary’s perception. Therefore, to change Mary’s perception and her way of belief, I healed, and restored life. And that is what you too need to see: a change of your perception. And therein is our journey together.

In the wilderness I see Your sustaining hand, but I also look at the difficulty of reaching a purpose, one that can take a long time and be dependent upon others. It is there that the trial of belief exposes my weakness: can I still believe though I do not see clearly the purpose?

Yet, in both cases, purpose was fulfilled. Even now you are beginning to see My purpose within to overcome the enemy: in your investments to see beyond profit to purpose, and the same within for healing. Can you look beyond just the short-term personal gain, whether or not success comes from your looking, to a higher purpose of success in overcoming by seeing? Sometimes that will require stepping away from the immediate battle, and its current perceived losses, to see the war and to the place I am standing.
