He will stand within Me even as I stand for him

Day 237

There is a place of peace I feel in doing, in thought, in belief. In this place my focus is on You, to the exclusion of all else that would try to remove that focus: that I might act steadfastly for systemic change, whether in financial or political systems, and move consistently and resolutely within these beliefs even though the results I would want to see may not come about as planned.

Even so, it remains to move with conviction, taking action for what I believe. I can only ask for Your guidance in this process and believe You will lead me in the ways of truth even though I may be in error. That confidence allows me to hold to my convictions even when it appears evil may triumph.

It is a testament to a man’s desire to believe that in the face of evil he can maintain his convictions and his beliefs. In the end he can only stand this way – all other ground is in constant shift beneath him. A firm foundation of belief in the One who does not change will support the man. There can be no firm foundation of belief in a place of freedom, or a place of prosperity, or a place of peace without the belief in One who can provide freedom, and prosperity, and peace – only in One who is Freedom, Prosperity, and Peace.

Can one stand on a thought? Can one stand on what he thinks to be right? Or fair? Not for long, for his heart will be shattered in the face of what he thinks by the history of the one who would shatter all things separate from God.

But if one stands with the One who has overcome all things, stands with the One within whom all things have their beginning and being, stands with the One who sustains all things with His voice, and stands within the presence of the One in whom all things good, and honorable, and trustworthy live and move, then that one will be sustained through all outer turmoil, through all presence of evil, through all questioning, through all persecution of thought or behavior.

He will stand within Me even as I stand for him. He will lift up his eyes to see a sunrise over all things good, for he will have seen Goodness rise over all things, even as it has moved over him and his circumstances. He will know that which he has searched for: he will know freedom – freedom to believe in the One who has made him to be free; he will know prosperity – for he will have experienced the love and guidance of the One who loves him beyond all things created; and he will know peace – from the One who has opened His arms to him in welcome, in belonging, in creation, in love.

Continue your walk with Me as you have and you will stand with all creation – and will stand with the One who has created all things for you.
