It is there you will find a joy of Creation found nowhere else

Day 241

I have, during the last day, spent as much time as possible attempting to move within the moments of each activity. It has been an effort of concentration, of watching details, of trying not to think so much of the whole of the activity, how its completion will affect the future, but only concentrating my focus upon the flow of movement to its completion, and that within the flow to watch and listen for You. I found it was much easier to move this way when there was no interruption from another person, but rather, a working within myself.

I’m not sure whether this is a proper focus, but it has demonstrated to me a clarity of task and a concentration on detail that I have not had consistently before. I have found a certain enjoyment within this kind of workflow that has proven effective in seeing fewer missed details, a more incisive thought process, fewer errors, and a better time completion of the task. I think those are good things to pursue.

But it’s been in the awareness that has captured my attention the most: there might be a mass of detail I have missed just moving through life – as I plow onward to the next event, the next accomplishment, the next possession. Admittedly there is a certain attraction to possession, a measurement by many of the success of life, that seeks attention – much to the distraction of focusing on details that the awareness has brought. But what have I missed along the way?

I guess I am attempting to see more within what I do: a sharpness to what I am seeing, more color, more touching of the task I am involved with, as if it is the only thing within my focus. I believe this to be possible with my interaction with people too, though at times I find myself forgetting to ‘see’ when I am with another, and just reacting to the encounter as it unfolds. I would wish to see You within this place too, and not just my work.

This is the work of Creation – it’s not just things to be made for enjoyment only, not even for the task of Creation alone, but for the intimacy of the process, what is made from within. It is the detail, the extremely small, the unseen within the seen, that I most consider. I see the heart within the man, the process of life within his environment, the emotional connection he has with what he does. This is My creative work: that a place is made for him, and all he does, within My heart, that he may be and do as I Am. The creative process is the expression of this relationship – though man mostly remains unaware, much to his misfortune.

You, however, have begun to see the heart of Creation, the edges of His movement, the power behind the movement. These come from the interaction with the task, with another, with Me. For now, this connection you have established in a relationship with the task will help you see with greater clarity that which you are creating. Nothing is mundane, nothing is without merit, nothing without value that would come across your gaze. All lie within your attention, all would respond to your touch, all would become greater for having been seen by you. Not one thing, or person, should be overlooked for another when having been seen by you. It is, therefore, your task to see what you are looking at, to hear the sound of it, to sense a presence within the life of what you are witnessing. Nothing is unimportant, nothing without a value, nothing to be overlooked and untouched. This is Creation.

Do not your words, seemingly inanimate without your touch, still reveal a presence? Do not the things you see and touch reveal a life within, that would remain silent and unseen were it not for your attention? You should not have it so, even as I do not – for everything is important to Me, everything is seen by Me, everything is to be touched by Me – for everything that has come into being, whether person or object, is important to Me, for they come from Me. No detail is so small, so seemingly unimportant, that I do not see.

And as I do so should you. For it is there you will find a joy of Creation to be found nowhere else, a happiness nowhere else felt, an understanding nowhere else revealed. These should never be missed.
